Full strip-down, machined, rebuilt, tested. The engine job other garages refuse — done in-house, with a 6-month parts and labour warranty.
Most "engine problems" aren't engine problems. Before you spend four figures on a rebuild, it's worth knowing the difference.
Six stages, from strip to road test. Every step photographed and recorded.
Engine out, every component catalogued, photographed and inspected.
Block decked, head skimmed, valve seats cut, crank reground or replaced where needed.
Bearings, gaskets, oil seals, timing kit, water pump. OE or OE-equivalent parts.
Reassembled to manufacturer torque specifications. Every step double-checked.
Pressure tested, oil pressure verified, run on the bench where possible before refitting.
Reinstalled, started, run-in and road-tested. Full record of what was done.
| Job | From |
|---|---|
| Short engine rebuild (block and internals) | £499 |
| Long engine rebuild (full strip and reassembly) | £1,200 |
| Cylinder head overhaul (off-engine, valves, seats, skim) | £499 |
| Snapped cambelt or timing chain damage repair | Quote on request |
Final price depends on the engine, parts required and machining work. We give you a written quote with photos of the strip-down before any of this is committed to.
If your engine isn't on this list, we've almost certainly done one anyway. Send us the reg and we'll tell you straight whether it's a job we'd take on.

"I've had an engine rebuild on another car before so I make a direct comparison and say these guys are a proper professional outfit. The quality of their work is excellent, and they managed to turn around a rebuild on a 26-year-old motor that most other places won't touch on a tight timescale."— Andrew Knight, Google review
Typically one to three weeks from booking in to handing over. Sometimes faster, occasionally longer if parts are slow or the machining work is unusual. We give a realistic estimate with the written quote.
We supply parts as standard — OE or OE-equivalent. If you've already sourced specialist parts (uprated bearings, performance head studs), we'll quote a fit-only price.
Yes — engine out, strip, rebuild, refit, road test. The whole job is in-house except for specialist machining (block decking, head skimming, crank grinding), which goes to our long-standing local engineering contacts.
A properly reconditioned engine should run as well as a new one in most respects, with bearings, seals and consumables fresh. It is not a brand-new engine — the block has done miles, even if remachined. For the cost of replacement (typically £4,000–£8,000+ for a new unit), a recon is usually the smart choice.
Yes. We'll quote on a strip-and-rebuild basis. You drop the engine off, we strip it, send it to be machined where needed, rebuild and return it. Useful for trade customers and project cars.
Send your reg, symptoms and any photos. We'll come back within the working day.
