ECU Remapping — Oldbury

Economy and Stage 1 performance remaps for diesel cars, vans, motorhomes and 4x4s. We read your standard map, write a revised one, road-test it, and keep your original on file. Written quote before any work starts.

What ECU remapping is

Every modern diesel runs a standard calibration — the "map" — set by the manufacturer to suit every market, fuel grade and driving style worldwide. That leaves headroom. A remap reads the standard map off the ECU and replaces it with a revised one, tuned to suit how you actually use the vehicle — on standard hardware, with no parts to fit.

We quote in writing first, keep a copy of your original calibration, and road-test the vehicle before you collect it.

What we remap for

Economy

Tuned for better fuel efficiency and stronger low-down torque, so you work the engine less for the same progress — useful for high-mileage drivers.

Performance (Stage 1)

A Stage 1 remap for more power and torque on standard hardware — sharper throttle response and stronger mid-range pull.

Vans, motorhomes & 4x4

Extra low-down torque where it earns its keep — loaded vans, motorhome bases like the Ducato, Transit and Sprinter, and 4x4s that tow.

How it works

Tell us the vehicle

Send your reg and what you're after — better MPG, more pull, or both. We'll confirm whether it's a good candidate and quote in writing.

We read the original map

We back up your standard calibration before changing anything, so it's always recoverable.

We write the revised map

A calibration tuned to your goal, kept within sensible limits for the standard hardware.

Road test & handover

We road-test the vehicle and give you a written note of what was changed for your records.

Two things worth knowing.

A remap is a modification, so you'll need to declare it to your insurer — we'll give you the details in writing. And because we keep your original map on file, the vehicle can be returned to standard whenever you need, for example before selling or handing back a lease.

FAQ

Your engine's ECU runs a standard calibration — the "map" — set by the manufacturer. Remapping reads that map and replaces it with a revised one, tuned for either better economy and driveability or more power and torque, on standard hardware.

An economy remap aims to improve fuel efficiency and low-down torque so you work the engine less for the same progress. Real-world gains depend on how you drive — a heavier right foot will use the extra torque rather than save fuel.

Yes. A remap is a modification and must be declared to your insurer. We'll give you a written note of what was changed for your records.

Yes. We keep a copy of your original map, so the vehicle can be returned to its standard calibration whenever you need — for example before selling or handing back a lease.

Yes — vans, motorhome bases such as the Ducato, Transit and Sprinter, and 4x4s. Heavier vehicles often benefit most from extra low-down torque for loaded driving, towing and hills.

We remap within sensible limits for standard hardware, road-test the vehicle afterwards and quote in writing first. If a vehicle isn't a good candidate for a remap, we'll tell you.
